Fate of India-Pakistan series to be decided on Monday

With Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not receiving any concrete reply from Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the proposed series between the two countries, there is a chance that it will be called off on Monday (December 14).
The series was scheduled to be held in December, but despite Sushma Swaraj, India's external affairs minister, holding talks with her Pakistani counterpart, Sartaj Aziz, last week, the fate of the series remains in limbo. Reports suggested that resumption of cricketing ties between India and Pakistan was not discussed in the meeting.
Accodring to an IANS report, with no headway being made, Shaharayar Khan, the chairman of PCB, had communicated to the BCCI that if the series did not go ahead as planned, Pakistan might not play any games against India in the future. He requested the Indian board to resolve this matter by Monday (December 14). He further added that the matter will be taken up with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
"Yes, we haven't received a reply from the BCCI till Saturday evening, therefore, we are closing this chapter now. We will, however, make an announcement in this regard by Monday."
